We are 4 km's from Lac de Vassivière, a 1000 hectares of man made lake which is one of the largest in France. Just 3.5 km's from Faux-la-Montagne, situated in a Regional Natural Park on the northern reaches of the Plateau de Millevaches. You find yourself in the calm and serene countryside of the Creuse, close to the borders of Haute-Vienne and the Corrèze. This makes us an ideal base for exploring the treasures of all 3 departments. Our biker friendly B&B welcomes you to one of the most beautiful and unspoilt places in France. Relax and unwind amongst the peaceful forests, rivers and lake or be stimulated by the many activities in and around this green haven. Around Lac de Vassivière there are sandy beaches excellent for swimming, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, water skiing, boat trips, pedalos, rambling, horse riding and mountain biking. There is an excellent 9 hole golf course overlooking Lac du Chammet, nordic skiing around Gentioux-Pigerolles in the winter months. With the GR 46 and GR 440 on are our doorstep this is a perfect place for ramblers and walkers on all levels. Royère-de-Vassivière holds 4x4 trials, motocross and quad bike competition. This area offers many activities for the whole family, with just a 5 minute walk from Vallon Vert you find yourself next to a 45 hectare lake, Lac de Faux which is great for walking, fishing, green laneing or just having a picnic. Afterwards return to our secluded peaceful retreat providing a relaxing atmosphere with good home cooked cuisine. Guests can unwind and spoil themselves in the undisturbed splendour of the rural countryside, surrounded by the abundant wildlife, flora and fauna that this tranquil land has to offer. The Limousin is steeped in 2000 years of history and is famous for its porcelain and its enamel work. Visit beautiful Chateaux and the pretty villages with their markets and festivals that celebrate all aspects of rural life. The island on Lac de Vassivière, which is home to a contemporary art exhibition with many art sculptures dotted around the island, and the museum of Tapestry in Aubusson are open all year.
